In short

Goldfold does not collect, sell or share any personal data. There is no account and nothing about you leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Your fish (its hunger, how clean its water is, how much it has grown, its colour and your chosen food) is saved only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you turn on Call. Goldfold measures how loud the sound is, on your device, to notice a voice or a clap so your fish can swim over. If you allow speech recognition, it also listens for a few words (like "spin" or "jump") using Apple's on-device speech recognition, and, on devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device language model to understand them. Both run entirely on your iPhone. Audio and words are never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Call turns off when you leave the app, and you can deny or remove microphone access at any time in Settings.

Motion

Goldfold reads your device's motion sensors to move the water. This happens on your device and is not stored or sent.

Analytics, ads and tracking

The app has no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your fish never leaves your device. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

This website

On goldfold.app we count visits with Umami, running on our own server. Umami sets no cookies and does not record your name, email or an advertising identifier: only the page viewed, the page you came from, the browser, the device type and an approximate country.

Children

Goldfold collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
