Goldfold is an app for the iPhone Duo: closed, it is a glass of water that moves with your hand. Open the phone and the water pours into an aquarium across both halves, with a fish to look after.

How to use the virtual aquarium
- Add fish, plants and rocks with the buttons under the tank, and pick a water color. The tank holds up to 14 fish.
- Tap the water to drop fish food. The hungry fish swim to it, eat, blow a few bubbles and wiggle. Jellyfish drift and do not eat flakes.
- Use remove mode to take something out, or start over for a fresh tank.
- Copy a link or save an image to show your aquarium to someone else.
A relaxing fish tank screensaver for any screen
Press relax mode and the aquarium fills the screen: controls fade away after a few seconds and the screen stays awake where the browser allows it. Turn the sound on for soft water and the occasional bubble.
On a computer, press Esc to leave. On an iPhone the page fills the window instead of the whole screen, because Safari only lets video go full screen. To show it on a TV, cast or mirror this tab, or open this page in the TV's browser.
Your aquarium is saved on your device
The tank is stored in this browser's local storage, so it is there next time you open the page. Clearing site data removes it. A shared link carries the whole tank inside the address, so nothing needs to be uploaded to a server.
Questions
Is the virtual aquarium free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, there is nothing to install and no account.
Can I use it as a fish tank screensaver?
Yes. Press relax mode for a full-screen tank that you can leave open. A browser page is not a system screensaver, so it plays while the tab is open.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It is drawn to run smoothly on phones, and it respects the reduced-motion setting of your device.
Where is my aquarium saved?
Only in this browser, on your device. Sharing a link puts the tank in the address, not on a server.
